Some tough news for fans of the New York Rangers. Star player and alternate captain Mika Zibanejad left a scrimmage that was taking place in pain and he's being kept out for the rest of it.
"Oh, boy. Not sure exactly how it happened, but they just had to stop play because Mika Zibanejad was hunched over in pain. Looked like he was favoring his right arm and went to the bench very gingerly."
"He's off to the locker room."
"Predictably, no sign of Mika to start the second period. Even if he's fine, can't imagine any reason to put him back out there." - Vince Mercogliano
Losing a player like Zibanejad for any portion of the season would be a big setback for the Rangers. For now, fans will have to wait to see exactly what happened and what the damage is.
