Smith speaks on Chychrun's injury
While the news of the Ottawa Senators' potential sale to the likes of Ryan Reynolds and Dwayne «The Rock» Johnson has been at the forefront of the nation's capital sports headlines, head coach DJ Smith broke news that nobody who cheers for the team that plays at the Canadian Tire Centre in Kanata wanted to hear.
Smith disclosed recently obtained Jakob Chychrun would be watching from the press box for a couple of weeks with what he described as a lower-body injury.
While Chychrun has only played in twelve games for the Senators, he's contributed with two goals, three assists, and eight penalties minutes while also going a -1,
The oft-injured Chychrun is no stranger to sitting on the sidelines nursing wounds however when inserted into a lineup has the ability to be game-changing as a two-way defenceman.
Smith also updated the status of forward Ridly Grieg suggesting that the forward would miss the remainder of the regular season with a sternum injury.
