Briere will have plenty of decisions to make this off-season on what to do with his roster, but his priority right now is reviewing all his options when it comes to who to select with their top-ten pick in June's draft.
One name that might not be with the organization next season is defenceman Tony DeAngelo as according to Larry Brooks of the New York Post, the Flyers are likely to part ways with him this summer.
DeAngelo, 27, had an interesting first season in Philadelphia under John Tortorella, as he found himself scratched for the final five games of the year. He said last week that he respects Tortorella but says that sitting for five games is ridiculous. Earlier in the year, Tortorella told reporters that the team needs to work with DeAngelo on his defensive game.
The Sewell (New Jersey) native had 42 points, 73 penalty minutes and was a minus-27 in 70 games this season. He has one more year remaining on his contract with a cap hit of $5 million.
