According to Taylor Haase of DK Pittsburgh Sports, former Toronto Maple Leafs General Manager Kyle Dubas met with the Penguins and captain Sidney Crosby late on Tuesday night.

"A source with knowledge of the situation told DK Pittsburgh Sports that Dubas, an apparent finalist for the GM vacancy, was at the UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex for a session that extended late into Tuesday night. Sidney Crosby also was there and was believed to be among those who met with Dubas. Members of the Penguins' public relations staff also were on hand." Haase said.

It appears that Dubas is at least considering the open General Manager position with the Pittsburgh Penguins, which is a little bit shocking considering what he said last week before being let go by the Maple Leafs.

"I definitely don't have a view to going anywhere else. It would either be (Toronto) or taking time (away) to reflect. You won't see me next week pop up elsewhere. I can't put my family through that after this year." Dubas said.

The Penguins asked the Maple Leafs for permission in recent days to talk to Kyle Dubas, which was granted over the last couple of days.

Dubas is expected to be one of the finalists for the position, joining Tampa Bay Lightning assistant General Manager Mathieu Darche. Other candidates that were involved in the first phase of the interview process, Eric Tulsky (Hurricanes AGM) and Dan MacKinnon (Devils AGM) were reportedly told they were out of the running, according to TSN's Pierre LeBrun.
