He must have thought they were still involved in the battle of Pennsylvania. Sidney Crosby of the Pittsburgh Penguins got called for a penalty yesterday after a brutal crosscheck on an old rival.
In the game between the Pittsburgh Penguins and Ottawa Senators, Crosby was called after shoving his stick into the back of Claude Giroux twice. The second one was looked particularly painful.
Crosby and Giroux have met often over the years when Giroux was with the Philadelphia Flyers. I'm not sure if Crosby was upset by something specific, but it looks like he got the anger out.
We've seen this over the years from Crosby, but this one is egregious nonetheless. At least he got called for a penalty here, but things like this are why Crosby still has the crybaby nickname.
