Sidney Crosby does the Pittsburgh Penguins a huge favor, signs team friendly deal
It has taken much longer than either party had hoped, but the Pittsburgh Penguins and Sidney Crosby have finally managed to come to terms on a new agreement. After negotiating back and forth, Crosby had made it clear that he intended on doing everything he could to help the Penguins. Now the best player in franchise history is locked into a new deal.
News of the deal surfaced online from TSN's Chris Johnston that the parties came together on a two year deal. Johnston broke the news on X this morning and it will see Crosby paid $8,700,000 per year for the next two years.
Last season, Sidney Crosby's scored 42 goals, 52 assists, and 94 points. He had a plus/minus rating of 7 and spent 40 minutes in the penalty box. He also had 278 shots, 10 power play goals, 13 power play assists, and 3 game-winning goals. This was a huge season for Crosby proving he was still one of the elite players in the game.
This provides stability for the Penguins and locks Crosby down for the next three seasons for Pittsburgh.
