The Seattle Kraken announced on Friday afternoon that they've agreed to terms on a one-year contract worth $775,000 with nine-year NHL veteran Pierre-Edouard Bellemare.

Bellemare, a native of Le Blanc-Mesnil, France came over to North America in 2014, signing with the Philadelphia Flyers, where he would spend the first three seasons of his NHL career. He was then claimed by the Vegas Golden Knights in the 2017 NHL Expansion Draft, playing in 'Sin City' for two years before moving to Denver after signing with the Colorado Avalanche.

The 38-year-old has spent the last two seasons with the Tampa Bay Lightning, helping them to the Stanley Cup Final in 2022, where they lost to Colorado. In 73 games during the 2022-23 campaign, Bellemare had 13 points (four goals, nine assists), 34 penalty minutes and was a minus-nine. He went on to add two points in six Stanley Cup Playoff games.
