Kraken Goaltender Gets Away With One after Deciding to Take Matters into His Own Hands
As the old saying goes, if you want something done, and done right, do it yourself. Seattle Kraken goaltender Philipp Grubauer appears to be a big fan of that saying.
With his team taking on the Nashville Predators Saturday night, and both fighting to keep their playoff hopes alive, Grubauer apparently got tired of members of the Predators getting in his way and being in his crease. Grubauer expressed his anger by giving Nashville's Jason Zucker a hard shove to the ice. There was no penalty on the play.
While it's sometimes necessary for goalies to take matters into their own hands, this definitely should have been a penalty. It also makes you wonder what the response from the league would have been if someone like Jordan Binnington of the St. Louis Blues had done something similar to an opponent. I don't think it would have gone unnoticed like it did with Grubauer. Unfortunately for him, the outburst didn't help much. The Kraken lost 4-1.
