Brendan Shanahan sends a memo to the entire league letting them know who is currently replacing Kyle Dubas
Yesterday, on the Friday before a long weekend, Brendan Shanahan shocked the hockey world when he made the announcement that he'd relieved Kyle Dubas of his position. This came after multiple reports that the two parties were close to finalizing a long-term contract. That entire deal fell through and Shanahan reacted accordingly.
During his press conference yesterday, Shanahan made it clear that it was business as usual for the Leafs. After the conclusion of his press conference Shanahan sent an email to all 31 other teams confirming who would be running their day-to-day hockey operations.
#Leafs have notified all 31 other teams to contact Brandon Pridham in the interim for any personnel discussions after GM Kyle Dubas was not renewed.
This move will give the Maple Leafs time to determine the course they will take heading forward. The Leafs expect a full General Manager search to begin next week.
