Tonight, the Leafs played a home game after a five game road trip, and the team certainly didn't seem excited to be back in front of their fanbase.
Playing a lifeless game led to the Leafs being down 3-0 at the end of the second period, which prompted the fans to boo them off the ice. It didn't help that the final minutes of the period, the Leafs were helplessly hemmed in their defensive zone.
Just minutes before, Leafs superfan and podcaster Steve Dangle commented affirming the fans' feelings that this could be one of their worst home performances in a while.
Still down 3-0 with a period remaining, the play of the team so far would indicate this game is easily chalked up as a loss already. The Leafs have had some concerning defensive performances this year, but the offence has consistently been able give the fans something to cheer for - but not tonight.
