Michael Bunting ejected from tonight's game and will face a likely suspension
Michael Bunting has developed a reputation around the NHL for his antics. However it was more than his reputation tonight that got Bunting in trouble.
With approximately 5 minutes left in the 2nd period Bunting threw an illegal check to the head of Tampa Bay Lightning defender Erik Cernak. Cernak crashed to the ice hard and remained there for an extended period of time. The referees got together on the ice and called a major penalty on the play.
The Leafs were unhappy with the call but it is very likely Bunting receives a suspension on the play.
