Toronto Maple Leafs and President Brendan Shanahan expected to make major announcement today
The Toronto Maple Leafs have spent the last week interviewing potential General Manager candidates. Since the departure of Kyle Dubas, the Maple Leafs have worked to identify the best possible candidate. Last night news began to leak that the Maple Leafs had come to a decision that Brad Treliving would be the next General Manager.
Darren Dreger of TSN was the first to report the news, and now that has been followed up by a report by The Daily Faceoff's Frank Seravalli reporting that the deal is all but finalized at this time.
The Toronto Maple #Leafs are putting the finishing touches on a contract that will make Brad Treliving the 18th GM in club history.

The expectation is that the Maple Leafs will be able to make an announcement as early as this morning. This will allow the Maple Leafs to finally get started on their off season planning. With major decisions to be made this is a very important time for the Maple Leafs.
