Toronto Maple Leafs looking to add Auston Matthews favorite player to the teams front office
Since being hired Brad Treliving has made it clear, signing Auston Matthews to an extension is his top priority. Treliving has made it known, he'll be working hard to build a relationship with Matthews to convince the star that Toronto is where he still wants to be. There have been many reports that despite his close relationship with Kyle Dubas, that Matthews still wants to be a Maple Leaf.
Now it appears that the Maple Leafs could be taking steps to try and hire one of Matthews favorite players growing up. Growing up a fan of the Arizona Coyotes, Matthews didn't have a lot to cheer about. However, one constant for the Coyotes was always Shane Doan. Now according to Nick Kypreos the Leafs are looking to add Doan to their front office.
If the Maple Leafs are able to add Doan to the organization it could be an incredible add to the organization. For players like Matthews and Matthew Knies, adding an Arizona Legend could go a long way to securing both players futures.
