The three junior leagues under the Canadian Hockey League are well into their 2023-24 seasons and teams are getting a grasp on which direction they're heading in with the trade deadline in seven-to-eight weeks from now.

On Friday, a fairly big trade was made in the Western Hockey League involving Toronto Maple Leafs top prospect Fraser Minten.

According to reports from Jeff Marek and Darren Dreger, the Kamloops Blazers have traded Fraser Minten to the Saskatoon Blades.

"Sounds like Maple Leafs prospect Fraser Minten is on the move from the Kamloops Blazers in the WHL. I believe the Saskatoon Blades have landed him.

Sounds like multiple first round picks going to Kamloops." Marek said.

"Confirming. Fraser Minten has been traded from Kamloops to Saskatoon." Dreger said.

The trade is expected to be officially announced by the Kamloops Blazers at some point on Friday afternoon as they're currently on a road trip facing American teams.

Minten, 19, appeared in seven games with the Blazers this season after being sent back to the WHL by the Toronto Maple Leafs. In those seven games, the Vancouver native had ten points (three goals, seven assists), four penalty minutes and is a minus-two.
