Ullmark does hold quite a bit of control on where he ends up this summer because of his 15-team no-trade list and according to David Pagnotta, there is one team that he won't waive his no-trade clause - the Toronto Maple Leafs.
In a post on The Fourth Period, David Pagnotta shared that the Maple Leafs are not in the mix for Linus Ullmark because they are one of the teams on his no-trade list.
Pagnotta added that another Canadian team, the Ottawa Senators, are also on his no-trade list, but two sources have told him that Ullmark is willing to waive it to head to the Nation's Capital. The Senators are currently viewed as a favourite, but reports suggest it could cost a package of Jakob Chychrun, a first-round pick and another draft pick to add the Swedish netminder.
With Jacob Markstrom being dealt to New Jersey and the Maple Leafs not in the mix for Linus Ullmark, Toronto will need to turn their attention elsewhere for goaltending help. According to CapFriendly, Joseph Woll is the only goaltender under contract for the 2024-25 season as Ilya Samsonov, Martin Jones and Matt Murray are all set to hit the free agent market on Canada Day.
Ullmark, 30, has been one of the better goaltenders in the National Hockey League over the last few seasons and even earned the Vezina Trophy in 2022-23. In 40 games this season, the Lugnvik, Sweden native had a record of 22-10-7 with a 2.55 goals against average, a .915 save percentage and two shutouts.
With the trade market expected to heat up even further once the Stanley Cup Final ends, it's only a matter of time before the Boston Bruins move Linus Ullmark and fully commit to Jeremy Swayman as their starting goaltender going forward.
