Ryan Reaves was not sure if he fit into the long-term plans of the Toronto Maple Leafs earlier this season when he was forced to sit in the press box for a number of games after starting the season rather slowly. However, since the Toronto Maple Leafs enforcer has been inserted back into the lineup, it appears he has become invigorated, which has his teammates feeling various ways, especially when the 37-year-old enforcer drops the gloves.

Reaves, who went toe to toe with Tampa Bay Lightning left winger Tanner Jeannot, had the support of the entire Maple Leafs bench Wednesday night, which honestly seems to be the most energy shown by the majority of the team in recent memory.

Understanding what your teammates go through during stretches of their career or a season can be integral to the overall success of a franchise during a rather long season, so the character shown during the Reaves-Jeannot tilt was exciting to see for most Maple Leafs fans who haven't felt like they have been able to celebrate much in the last number of years.

Hopefully, the energy, effort, and camaraderie can continue as the team goes into the playoffs, and they can find success to get past the second round for the first time in a long while.
