Mitch Marner is taking constant questions about his injury in stride as he works his way back to the roster.

When participating in the National Hockey League, playing for the Toronto Maple Leafs is a different animal than playing with any of the other 31 franchises. From the pressure that players face to compete and ultimately win to standing behind a microphone answering questions that quite often seem rather asinine.

This instance has occurred numerous times this season with Mitch Marner, as the twenty-six-year-old has pushed back against media members more often than not during the 2023-2024 season, and although it seems like he plays the victim often, it's refreshing to see that he isn't afraid to test the limits between him and those tasked with asking him difficult questions, especially lately as he's been in the press box reportedly nursing a high ankle sprain.

When a player is fortunate enough to play in the mecca of the hockey universe, as some would emphasize, you are bound to experience criticism, but it takes a special person to play in Toronto due to all the noise the team and players' experience daily.

Mitch Marner has been called a baby by fans alike who likely have no clue what it is like to face the same questions repeatedly. Although at times fans have grown tired of his rhetoric, likely less than 1% know exactly how they would react when placed under a microscope daily. Admittedly, his production is down this season and he has missed a handful of games (because of injury), but if the Maple Leafs feel they need to make a move this season, would he be the odd man out?
