The Leafs forward did not literally break the boards or anything like that, but instead he somehow got a piece of a Lexus advertisement stuck in his equipment.
As a result, the ad tore off the boards as he skated away from them, hilariously getting caught in his pants. The Announcers even joked that he got a free parachute out of it!
Unsurprisingly, fans found this situation to be just as hilarious as the announcers did. Many were making jokes in the comments section, saying that Reaves should sign a deal with Lexus.
One fan even likened the odd incident to getting toilet paper stuck to your shoe.
This just goes to show us that anything can happen in hockey. After so many years of being a fan, most of us think we've seen it all. Unless your favorite team hasn't won a Stanley Cup of course.
However, it is probably a fair bet that most of us have never seen anything like this, regardless of how long we have been watching the sport.
Additionally, this was not the only notably incident Reaves got into in the last 24 hours. While he might not be contributing on the scoresheet, he certainly is finding ways to make things interesting.
In last nights game, he accidentally kicked his linemate Pontus Holmberg in the chest after he took a spill in the corner boards.
Luckily, Holmberg was protected by his chest pads and did not need medical attention after the play. As we all know, hockey skates are incredibly sharp and potentially even lethal.
As such, collisions like this can be extremely scary so it is reliving to know that no one was seriously injured on the play.
Be sure to tune in on Saturday for the Leafs next game to see what other nonsense Reaves might get himself into. You never know, he could even get into his first fight of the season.
