The Boston Bruins haven't been at their best early in the 2024/25 season, and now they'll see star blue liner Hampus Lindholm on the sidelines.

After an off-season in which they landed both Elias Lindholm and Nikita Zadorov, many believed this Boston Bruins team would be much better in 2024/25 than they were a year ago. However, they're off to an uncharacteristically slow start this season, posting just an 8-7-2 record through the first 17 games of their season.

Part of those struggles have been their offense, as the Bruins rank 25th in the NHL in goals scored this season, with the team reportedly looking to fill a spot in their top-six to turn that around, but this latest news certainly won't be helping their turnaround.

After a much needed win on Tuesday night, Bruins Head Coach Jim Montgomery revealed some tough injury news to blue liner Hampus Lindholm, who is set for a stint on the sidelines.

"Hampus is lower-body injury. It's going to be weeks."

According to Montgomery, Lindholm's injury is a lower-body one, and while he didn't give any specifics, he did reveal that the 30-year old would be out for 'weeks'. After a career year in 2022/23, Lindholm's production dipped extensively a year ago, and in 17 games this season, he has been very up-and-down, posting 3 goals and 7 points with a -4 differential in that stretch.

The reason for the injury is seemingly a blocked shot during the game against the St. Louis Blues, with Lindholm blocking a shot late in the first period in a 0-0 game, ultimately leaving the game shortly after taking the puck to the left knee.

This season, Lindholm has played a key role on the Bruins second pair and also plays on their top powerplay unit, so with him out for a few weeks, they'll need to find a replacement that can potentially give this team a major spark.
