A strange situation with Vegas Golden Knights goaltender Robin Lehner has become a even more strange. Vegas released its list of players that will be participating in training camp this month. The veteran netminder's name is nowhere to be found.
Lehner did not play at all last season after undergoing double hip surgery, and there's no word on when or if he might return. He's also faced some personal turmoil, filing for bankruptcy and being accused of fraud by some creditors.
Lehner not playing is a terrible look for Vegas. When the team decided they couldn't keep both him and fan favourite Marc-Andre Fleury between the pipes, they decided to go with Lehner, shipping out Fleury in unceremonious fashion. Many fans were angry with the decision and how it was pulled off.
Lehner has this season and next remaining on his current deal, with a cap hit of $5 million per season.
