Alexander Ovechkin could be back on the pitch with Russian professional club this summer
Alexander Ovechkin is a massive soccer fan and last summer, he suited up for Russian-based professional club, FC Dynamo Moscow, in a friendly match against Amkal. 'The Great 8' used his body during the match and even scored a goal as you can see in the videos below.
But could we see Ovechkin back on the pitch in Moscow this summer? According to the club's CEO Pavel Pivovarov, they are in discussions with the Capitals captain to have him appear in another friendly match.
"Alexander Ovechkin can play for Dynamo in a friendly match in the summer. We are working with him," Pivovarov said.
Ovechkin is expected to attend FC Dynamo Moscow's match on Friday as they 14th-place Fakel, which is a big one for the latter as they're in a relegation battle. FC Dynamo Moscow currently sit sixth in the Russian Premier League standings and are six points off their rivals CSKA Moscow for fourth place and a spot in European competition for next season.
