Nathan MacKinnon calls out NHL officiating after Game 5 blown call
You'll have a tough time finding a more intense player in the NHL than Colorado Avalanche superstar Nathan MacKinnon.
After Colorado's 3-2 loss to the Seattle Kraken in Game 5 of their first round series, MacKinnon was asked his thoughts on the missed call and he was understandably pissed off.
«It's not 1975.»
He also mentioned his need to keep his composure after the call didn't go his way.
Halfway through the second period of a tied game. MacKinnon has possession of the puck in the offensive zone trying to beat a defender when he gets tripped. When MacKinnon realizes no penalty is coming, he has a temper tantrum at the referee.
Instead of back checking MacKinnon was slamming his stick and screaming at the referees. The Kraken took advance of the odd-man rush and scored the goal ahead goal.
Avalanche are now one loss away from their season ending. Game 6 is on Friday in Seattle.
