Bryan Little who was drafted 12th overall by the Atlanta Thrashers during the 2006 NHL Entry Draft will sign a one-day contract to retire with the Winnipeg Jets. Little will be celebrated during a pre-game ceremony on October 20, 2024, before the Jets host the Pittsburgh Penguins at 2 pm. Before being drafted by the Thrashers, Little played four seasons with the Barrie Colts of the Ontario Hockey League skating in 247 games. During that time he scored 153 goals to go along with 189 assists. He also accumulated 228 penalty minutes.
Little, a veteran of slightly less than 900 NHL games hasn't suited up for a game since the 2019-2020 season was injured after taking a slap shot off the ear during his final season and while he tried to attempt a return, it was all for naught. He eclipsed forty points in six straight seasons and nine times overall.
He played his entire career with the Atlanta Thrashers/Winnipeg Jets played in 843 games. During his career, he recorded 521 points(217 goals, 304 assists) along with 293 penalty minutes. He ranks top five in games played, goals, assists & points. Little also represented Canada several times winning gold at the 2007 World Junior Hockey Championships.
He was honoured by the franchise twice winning the Dan Snyder Memorial Award which is given annually to the player who best embodies perseverance, dedication and hard work without reward or recognition so that his team and teammates might succeed.
