Barry Trotz reveals his draft strategy and it's proof he's already a top tier General Manager in the NHL
The Nashville Predators made some significant changes to the franchise this week replacing head coach John Hynes with former player Andrew Brunette.
Executive Barry Trotz was among the members that took questions from the media during his availability on Wednesday.
Trotz revealed some of what he told his scouts ahead of the event, which Nashville is hosting. The 60-year-old, said his scouts were told to
«take some swings, take some high end swings on some guys.»
Trotz, who was the Predators' first head coach, is focused on adding high-end talent in the draft.
«I can find you 3rd line, 4th line guys, no problem,»
Trotz said. «Go get me some guys that get people out of their seats.»
Nashville has two first round picks to work with in the upcoming draft which is considered by many scouts as very deep. After missing this years' playoffs they hold the 15th pick and the 24th pick from the Mattias Ekholm trade with the Edmonton Oilers.
