Two rookies drop the gloves the moment they get out of the penalty box
During training camp players will do whatever it takes to try and make a good impression. The impression you leave during camp can go a long way to ensuring a player either makes the roster or receives a call up during the regular season. Tonight the Boston Bruins and Philadelphia Flyers met up for a preseason matchup and two rookies attempted to leave a lasting impact.
During the 2nd period, Jakub Lauko and Louie Belpedio found themselves sent off for roughing. While that two sat in the box for two minutes neither managed to cool off. The moment the two players exited the box they immediately headed for each other and immediately dropped the gloves for a spirited tilt.
While Belpedio appeared to win this one by decision, Lauko was a very game opponent and likely made a mark to help ensure he's on the opening night roster.
