At the tail end of a year with the organization tanking, the Montreal Canadiens suffered another tough blow to their season.
Late in tonight's game against the Tampa Bay Lightning, defender Milhail Sergachev took down Josh Anderson while driving the net, causing Anderson to slide awkwardly into the goalposts.
Already missing Slafkovsky, Caufield, Dvorak, Xhejak, and more due to injury at the moment, losing Anderson will be a tough blow to the leadership group remaining in Montreal.
Currently 28th place in the league with 11 games remaining, the Habs will likely secure one of the best chances at landing superstar Connor Bedard in the draft lottery this April.
