Last night, the New Jersey Devils played the New York Islanders at UBS Arena, though New Jersey won 5-4 in overtime, it came at a price as their captain Nico Hischier left the game and didn't return
In the second Hischier was in a foot race with islanders defender Ryan Pulock and the two were neck and neck when Hischier went into the boards awkwardly. He did finish the rest of the 2nd, but did not return for the 3rd; take a look.
Hischier, 24, has not been able to register a point yet through 4 games this season, but he is coming off of his best year where he tallied 31 goals and 49 assists through 80 games.
The Devils haven't said much regarding the injury, however Hischier will be evaluated today. For now, it's been labelled as an upper-body injury by head coach Lindy Ruff .
Let's hope it's nothing serious and he'll be able to play in New Jersey's next game on Tuesday.
