The Pittsburgh Penguins didn't do a whole lot at the trade deadline this year, mostly adding to the teams depth, however, they did bring back a familiar face in Nick Bonino.

Now, according to Penguins head coach Mike Sullivan, the newly acquired Bonino will miss some time with a gruesome injury, take a look:

Coach Sullivan confirms that Nick Bonino is out week-to-week after suffering a lacerated kidney last game vs. the Islanders.

Sullivan continued by saying that Bonino, although older now, was a big addiction and it'll be a huge loss to the team:

Coach Sullivan on Bonino's injury: It's hard. We were excited for him to be here. He's a great guy and player - a great voice in the locker room. He will continue to be that for us. The prognosis is encouraging and he's on the mend.

Bonino, 34, was re-acquired by the Penguins at the March 3rd deadline, in 62 games split between Pittsburgh and San Jose this season, he has 10 goals and 9 assists for a total of 19 points.

The injury happened in the last game against the New York Islanders
