Just before the Tampa Bay lightning and the Ottawa senators are set to drop the puck a 7pm eastern it looks like the Lightning will be without captain Steven Stamkos according to Lightning PR; take a look.
Steven Stamkos will not play in Ottawa tonight. He is day to day with a lower-body injury.
Stamkos, 33, has had a strong start to the year with 4 points in 2 games including 2 goals and 2 assists. He is currently listed as day-to-day.
Based off of how he's listed, it doesn't sound like Stamkos will be out for very long, but nonetheless losing your captain shortly before puck drop is never a good thing.
