Mark Giordano injured after scary collison into boards at 33 km/h
Tonight the Toronto Maple Leafs face off against the Arizona Coyotes. The game is being played at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto. The maple leaves are looking to break a nearly 22-year long losing streak to the Coyotes on home ice.
It appears that if the Maple Leafs are going to break this losing streak. They'll have to do it without veteran defender Mark Giordano. Midway through the first. While attempting to rush into the Arizona zone, a collison sends Gio into the boards where is head snaps back awkwardly.
According to the broadcast Giordano was traveling at 33 km an hour at the time he collided with the boards. Looking at the replay you can see the way his head snaps back. Gio was unable to get off the ice under his own power and was assisted by Rielly and team trainers to get to the dressing room.
Hopefully Gio is alright, but this looked like a scary play.
