Hockey has always been a physical game, but once you get to the National Hockey League, that physicality increases by quite a large margin. One of the best things in the game is a clean, open ice hit, especially when two rivals are playing each other.

This afternoon, The Philadelphia Flyers are in Pittsburgh to take on the Penguins and even though the two teams are on opposite ends of the standings, the game has been as physical as ever; take a look.

Jansen Harkins NAILS Jamie Drysdale at centre ice and Drysdale immediately heads off 🤕

Just over midway through the 2nd period with the Penguins leading 3-2, forward Jansen Harkins absolutely labels Flyers defender Jamie Drysdale with a textbook open ice hit.

Drysdale would leave the ice right away and head to the locker room. There is some concern as he missed 74 games last season with a shoulder injury. He has not returned to the game. Early in the 3rd period, the game is now tied 4-4

Hopefully Drysdale is okay and it's not as seriously as it looked as he was heading off the ice
