Senators youngster suffers possible career-ending injury

While the Ottawa Senators continue to toil in mediocrity and likely will miss the playoffs, for the seventh straight season, it appears that one of their youngsters who has battled injury problems throughout his career will miss time again and according to one insider, the injury he recently sustained could be career altering.

Interim head coach Jacques Martin updated the media on Thursday and, although vague with details, mentioned that Josh Norris would be out long term, however, they would provide more details later on. Media was told that Norris had been sent for an MRI presumably on the left shoulder that he has had surgery on twice, which has caused him to miss 41 games over the last season and a half.

Norris, who has suited up for fifty games for the Senators, was centring a line between Ridley Greig and Drake Batherson, will be missed as he has provided sixteen goals and fourteen assists for thirty points.

Whether you want to or not, you have to feel for the Senators and their fan faithful as the last number of years they have dealt with several issues including an ownership change, injuries, suspensions and of course personnel changes and while they continue to press on one wants to wonder, when will they catch a break?
