We saw a lot of scary on-ice incidents recently, but this one stands out because it involved two teammates.
In the dying seconds of the third period of the Kings Vs. Predators matchup that went down yesterday in Nashville, Thomas Novak, the Preds' 27-year-old forward, was injured in a collision with a teammate.
The Kings were controlling the puck in Nashville's zone when Novak and Colton Sissons violently collided in an attempt to take back the puck.
Novak remained on the ice for a while before being helped off the ice by his teammates and a member of the Preds' medical unit.
Check out the following video to see the full incident:
In 12 games this season, Novak tallied four points, including three goals. He's currently tied with Alexandre Carrier at the 9th position in the team's scorers, two points over Michael McCarron and six points under Filip Forsberg, who leads the team with 10.
Nothing seems to be working for the Predators right now. Despite making key acquisitions in the summer like Steven Stamkos and Jonathan Marchessault, the team is dead last in the Central Division, with a 4-7-1 record.
The Predators will look to bounce back from that tough loss tomorrow, against the red-hot Alex Ovechkin and the Washington Capitals. In 11 games this season, Ovi scored 14 points, including seven goals. If they want to stop him, the Preds will need to put up a great team effort and Juuse Saros will need to be locked in.
