19-year-old defender passes away tragically Saturday
Sad news from the hockey world to report. After a lengthy battle with cancer 19-year-old Braydin Lewis passed away Saturday. The USHL Metro Jets confirmed the news yesterday.
Lewis spent 3 seasons with the Jets and was beginning to develop into a very promising player. He scored 9 goals and had 36 assists in just 37 games during the 2021/22 season. His battle with cancer limited him to just 6 games this year. Lewis still managed to score 3 goals and add an assist during those 6 games.
It is with heavy hearts to share the news that our warrior, Braydin Lewis, lost his battle with cancer late last night with family by his side.
Lewey started with the Jets in 2020. The defenseman was a force to be reckoned with, was a fan favorite and beloved by everyone.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Lewis Family, his teammates and anyone impacted by his passing.
