26 NHL drafted prospects set to have exclusive signing rights expire next month and will become unrestricted free agents.
August 15th is an important day on the calendar of every team around the league each year and this year will be no different. On that day, NHL drafted prospects who are exiting their final year of college are set to have their exclusive signing rights expire and when they do, they'll hit the free agent market as UFAs.
This year, a total of 26 NHL drafted prospect will have their exclusive signing rights expire, most notably Alexander Campbell and Ty Smilanic, who were third round picks in 2019 and 2020, respectively.
Let's take a look at the full list of players who will become UFAs next month, if their not signed by their NHL clubs. It's worth noting that six of the 26 players have contracts in place elsewhere for the 2024-25 campaign - five in the AHL & one in Liiga, Finland's top division.

We'll have to wait and see what the coming weeks bring for these prospects and if any of them are able to land an entry-level contract with their current team before hitting the open market.
