3 teams showing considerable interest in trading for Josh Anderson, including 2 Western Conference teams
Montreal Canadiens forward Josh Anderson has been generating interest around the league. When healthy Anderson can be a force on the ice. He is a big, powerful player who is extremely quick along the ice. He also brings that physical element that every team needs in their lineup.
Multiple teams have reportedly expressed interest in Anderson, including the Calgary Flames, Edmonton Oilers and New Jersey Devils.
The 28 year old is in year three of a seven-year, $38.5 million contract and owns an eight-team no-trade list. Anderson has scored 7 goals and 9 points in 25 games this season, while averaging 15:13 in ice time.
Anderson's powerful, physical, all out every shift style of game should be a perfect fit for playoff hockey but the numbers haven't translated so far in his career. In 43 playoff games he has scored 8 goals and 14 points.
The Oilers, Flames, and Devils are all in a tight cap situation. Some work would need to be done to offset the cap hit, but all three teams have players on one-year contracts that could be moved to make the money work.
