Tuesday's wire saw a pair of players placed on waivers by their respective teams for the purpose of being sent to the minors.

According to Chris Johnston of TSN, Chicago Blackhawks forward Zach Sanford and San Jose Sharks defenceman Jacob MacDonald were placed on waivers this afternoon.

"Placed on NHL waivers today: Zach Sanford (CHI) and Jacob MacDonald (SJ)." Johnston said.

Sanford, 29, was claimed off waivers earlier this season by Chicago from the Arizona Coyotes. In 26 games between the Coyotes and Blackhawks, Sanford has five assists, six penalty minutes and has an even-rating.

MacDonald, 30, is in his first full season with the San Jose Sharks after being traded to them during the 2022-23 by Colorado. In 22 games, MacDonald has tallied a new career high in goals, six, along with one assist for seven points. He's also added 21 penalty minutes and is a minus-ten.

If Sanford and/or MacDonald clear waivers on Wednesday afternoon, they'll be assigned to their respective American Hockey League affiliate.
