After 9th straight win fans chant apology to Lindy Ruff, less then a month after wanting him fired
The New Jersey Devils started the season 0-2-0, while that doesn't sound like the worst case scenario, it was for some fans. After losing their second straight game fans in attendance began to chant "Fire Lindy" it was reported by multiple NHL Insiders that ownership had already begun to consider a coaching change.
Ultimately management decided not to pull the plug on Ruff and they've been paid back ten fold. Since losing their second game of the season the Devils have gone 12-1-0. While most people forgot about the chants, it appears fans in attendance at tonight's Devils game have not. Late in the third period fans decided to offer up an apology for their previous chants.
The fans broke out in a "Sorry Lindy" chant as the team went onto their 9th consecutive victory.
It's great to see the Devils finally getting some wins under the belt. After years is struggling the fan base is definitely deserving of some playoff hockey.
