Alex Ovechkin passes Wayne Gretzky on all-time goals list
Alex Ovechkin still remains in hot pursuit of Wayne Gretzky's all-time NHL goal record. Ovechkin trails 'The Great One' by 101 goals for the all-time record, but last night Ovi was able to notch another goal and pass Gretzky no another list.
Last night against the Vancouver Canucks, Ovechkin added 2 more goals to his career total. These two goals marked the 402nd and 403rd goals of Ovechkin's career.
These goals propelled Ovechkin into 1st place on the all-time road goals scored by an NHLer. This passes Wayne's 402 career away goals, now it's no longer seeming like an if Ovi will pass Gretzky, it seems like a matter of when.
