Over the weekend Manitoba Moose forward Evan Polei let his temper got the best of him. This incident happened Friday night in a game against the Texas Stars. After he Polei was called for a penalty he skates to the penalty box and angrily swings his stick out of frustration.

As Polei tries to make contact with the boards his stick strikes the linesman in the face. The linesman was able to remain in the game, but Polei received a game misconduct for this play. While the contact was clearly unintentional he is responsible for his stick at all times, including when in a fit of rage.

While many expected a lengthy suspension the league has officially ruled on the matter.

Manitoba's Evan Polei has been suspended one game as a consequence of his actions in last night's game at Texas.

This suspension likely doesn't align with what was expected to be handed out, but acknowledges the fact that this was purely accidental. This does set a bad precedent for players and stick interactions, but is what the league ultimately deemed it was fair.
