Tempers flare after Travis Sanheim breaks hockey's code
Hockey has a lot of unwritten rules, but one of the most well known rules is that no player should shoot the puck after the whistle is blown. But even more than that, no player should shoot the puck into the goalie's net after play has stopped. Unfortunately Travis Sanheim didn't get that memo.
During the 3rd period of last night's game, after the whistle being blown Sanheim shot the puck into Jacob Markstorm's net. After the puck hits the netting behind the net, it falls in front of the net where Sanheim retrieves it. Despite the whistle Sanheim shoots the puck into the net.
As Sanheim begins to skate away from the net he's followed by Nikita Zadorov. Zadorov grabs Sanheim from behind and tries to pull him to the ice before a scrum breaks out. Cooler heads eventually prevailed, but Zadorov received 2 minutes for roughing while Sanheim was given 2 minutes for unsportsmanlike conduct.
