Angry hockey mom climbs the glass and tries to slap linesman to get his attention
I've seen a lot of wild things during my time at the rink, but this one is definitely up there with the wildest. During an under 13 game in Quebec over the weekend, a hockey mom climbed onto the boards and tried to get the linesman's attention by slapping him on the helmet.
According to those in attendance the woman was mad that the play clock had not been started by the time keeper. Rather than trying to get the officiating crews attention like a normal human being she climbs the boards and swings at his head.
While I can understand the frustration of the clock not running and potentially giving a team an unfair advantage, this is no way to react. Former referee Tim Peel brought up the very important point, that interactions like this are why it's so difficult to find officials and why many parents don't want their children refereeing.
