The Montreal Canadiens have seen some strange calls this season especially when it comes to goaltender interference. Last night against the Tampa Bay Lightning it happened again.
The Tampa Bay Lightning came into the Canadiens' zone for a scoring chance when Tampa Bay Lightning forward Anthony Cirelli plowed into Montreal Canadiens' goaltender Jake Allen. The collision sent both Allen and the puck into the net.
You would think this would be no goal right? But it was actually called a goal. The Canadiens' challenged the play for what they felt was clearly goaltender interference, but after video review it was determined to be a good goal causing many to scratch their heads.
Montreal Canadiens' forward Brendan Gallagher, who has had many goals disallowed by the league made a simple tweet with this reaction:
What's your call on this goal or no goal?
