Antii Raanta badly injured by David Pastrnak
David Pastrnak doesn't have a history of taking a run at goalies, but that's exactly what happened on this collision. Antii Raanta attempted to play the puck and clear the crease as Pastrnak tried to make a play and regain possession. Unfortunately by the time Raanta had cleared the puck, Pastrnak whether intentionally or unintentionally collided with Raanta.
This is clearly something Brad Marchand would typically do, so it's puzzling to see Pasta make a "play" like this.
It is obvious that the crease was cleared before Pastrnak hit Raanta, observing this multiple times now. This play was originally rules a major penalty on the ice, but it was reduced to a minor after being reviewed.
Pyotr Kochetkov has had to take over in net, as Raanta is out of the game. Kochetkov will be making his playoff debut tonight. Carolina is current up by 2!
