Today it was announced that, Los Angeles Kings' forward Dustin Brown would be retiring at the conclusion of the season. Brown hadn't mentioned retirement previously so this was a bit of a shock to everyone.

With the news Los Angeles Kings' captain and good friend of Brown, Anze Kopitar, decided to pay tribute to his friend and long-time teammate. Dustin Brown was the captain of the Kings for 8-seasons before passing the torch to Kopitar, so Kopitar decided to return the favour and return the "C" to Brown for his finally regular season home game.

Dustin Brown was drafted by the Kings 13th overall in the 1st round of the 2003 NHL Entry Draft. Brown scored 325 goals and had 387 assists for total of 712 points in his 1296 regular season games all with Los Angeles.

Dustin Brown captained the Los Angeles Kings to Stanley Cup victories, in 2012 and again in 2014. Brown has also represented Team USA hockey numerous times throughout his career.

After the game the Canucks saluted the LA Kings player by lining up to shake Brown's hand and honour their long-time rival.
