Avalanche provide update on Nathan MacKinnon
We haven't seen Nathan MacKinnon since January 26th, when the star was left bloodied on the ice. MacKinnon was dropped by a 1st period hit delivered by Bruins' forward Taylor Hall. The hit by Hall caused MacKinnon's own stick to snap back into MacKinnon's face.
Hall was initially issued a major penalty on the play, but this was later rescinded and reduced to a minor. After the hit Jared Bednar delivered the news that, "MacKinnon had suffered a facial fracture and a concussion on the play."
The injury cost MacKinnon his appearance in the All-Star Game and a handful of Avalanche games, but Avs fans finally got some good news Saturday when MacKinnon returned to practice as a full participant.
The news got even better after practice when Bednar made the announcement that MacKinnon was scheduled to return in full capacity tomorrow against the Dallas Stars.
