Habs swing a trade for a goaltender
The Montreal Canadiens have made a trade with the Minnesota Wild on Saturday morning to address a need in goal, bringing in The Hamburglar himself, Andrew Hammond.
Going back the other way in the deal is 26-year-old AHLer Brandon Baddock, who has spent the last two seasons with the Habs' AHL affiliate, the Laval Rocket.
Hammond has not played in the NHL since the 2017-18 season, when he played one game for the Colorado Avalanche. In 56 career NHL games, Hammond owns a surprising 27-15-6 record with a cumulative .923 SV% over that span.
The 34-year-old netminder has played in 11 games in the AHL with the Iowa Wild this season, posting a 6-2-3 record, with a 2.44 GAA and a .908 SV%
