Free agency is set to begin on July 13th and with that date looming General Managers are working to ensure that they have as many details as possible about their upcoming free agents. Minnesota Wild GM Bill Guerin has said goalie Marc-Andre Fleury hasn't given him an answer on whether he will re-sign or go to free agency.

Things ended on a bit of a sour note for Fleury and the Wild. They were eliminated by the St. Louis Blues in six games in the first round of the playoffs. Fleury started in five of the six games giving up at least four goals in three of them. He finished the playoffs with a 3.04 GAA and .906 Save %

The Wild also have the challenge of a very tricky cap situation to navigate. With the dead cap hits of both Ryan Sutter and Zach Parise the team will be forced to operate $12,743,588 below the salary cap ceiling. They did free up some space by trading Swiss playmaker Kevin Fiala to the Los Angeles Kings for Brock Faber and the 19th pick in this years' draft.

Minnesota has veteran goalie Cam Talbot signed for one more season at a cap hit of $3,666,667. Talbot showed management he can hold down the starter role with a 32-12-4 record.

Guerin would like to make resigning Jacob Middleton a priority. He was acquired at the deadline for goalie Kaapo Kahkonen. He averaged just under 18 minutes per night in 21 games for the Wild. Would a deal in the $2-$3 million range get it done?
