Blackhawks Head Coach on Seth Jones ''I don't know why they signed this guy''

It is no secret that the Chicago Blackhawks underperformed this season. The expectations weren't high going into the season with their 21st place finish last season. But Chicago made some big moves this past off-season bringing in Marc-Andre Fleury and Seth Jones. But Jones didn't look like he was going to fit in at the beginning of the season.

Seth Jones was traded to Chicago this summer and immediately signed an 8-year $76 million deal. Head Coach Derek King got candid about Seth Jones' performance this year. At the beginning of the season he was not impressed with what Jones was bringing to the team.

I don't know why they signed this guy honestly

Derek King, like the rest of us, was questioning why Seth Jones was given that massive contract this summer. His production has been decreasing since 2018. But as the year went on and Jones became more comfortable, his production and play improved. King even believes that Jones deserves a «big letter» next season. Don't be surprised if you see a new patch on Seth Jones' jersey next year.
