Boston Bruins find out fate of former first round pick placed on waivers, while Jets place player on waivers
The 2015 NHL Draft was not kind to the Boston Bruins. Despite having three consecutive picks in the first round, the Bruins have very little to show for it. At that draft the Bruins selected Jakub Zboril, Jake DeBrusk and Zachary Senyshyn with the 13th, 14th and 15th picks respectively.
Of the three only DeBrusk has managed to carve out a respectable pro career. Yesterday the Bruins placed Zboril on waivers at the player's request. Zboril was hoping another NHL team would be willing to give him the opportunity the Bruins have not.
Teams had until noon today to put a claim in for the defender and unfortunately for Zboril, no team felt he was worth a roster spot.
Zboril will remain with the Providence Bruins where he has played all season.
On the waiver wire today, the Jets have placed Dominic Toninato on waivers for purposes of assigning him to the AHL.
